Understanding Delhi's Land Pooling Policy: What Homebuyers Need to Know

Ans: Land pooling is when landowners voluntarily contribute their land for development in exchange for compensation or a share of the developed land. Land acquisition, on the other hand, is when the govt. purchases land from the land owner for development projects, often without the consent of landowners, and compensation is determined by the government.

Ans: As per the current status of the land pooling policy in Delhi, the aim of developing 105 villages divided into five zones - P-II, K-I, L, N, and J is facing resistance. However, to make it more flexible for the landowners, the department has proposed amendments to the DD Act 1957. 

Ans: The DDA Land Policy of 2018 applies to 104 villages located in six zones of the urban extension of Delhi, namely Zones J, K-I, L, N, P-I, and P-II.
